He and I

It's kind of a funny story how we met... we were both at a high school basketball game, and he pointed to a huge buff guy across the court. I'm not really sure what exactly was said but basically he told me I totally could (and should) beat him up.  There was a little bit of small talk and then we said our goodbyes.  And the rest is history! Just kidding I'll share more details than that :) So turns out that Lincoln and I had quite a few mutual friends but we had never actually met. I think the timing was all part of "the plan" ( I'm sure you'll soon come to know that I'm all about "the plan" that everyone's life has). So anyways, after that night at the basketball game, I was pretty interested in this cutie. I did a little creepin' and got his number from a friend and we started talking. I remember the second day we had been texting was valentines day, and he sent me "if you were a pokemon, I'd choose you". He is the biggest dork and I loved it! 2 proms and several dates later, we took a trip to the Mesa temple to do some walking and talking. And what do you know, he pulled out a ring (pop) and asked me to be his girlfriend. I'm sure you can guess my answer :) Ever since then our relationship has been a total roller coaster, but a year later we are still best friends. And even though he will be gone for another 708 LONG days (ughh) , I am positive that he will still be my best friend when he gets back.

Snow.

Yesterday it was a beautiful 65 degrees in Flagstaff. Today it snowed. Real cool Flagstaff (literally...). Also I am missing Lincoln terribly :(

Day 1.

So here goes my first attempt at blogging! We'll see how long I actually keep up with it, I have the attention span of about a 2 year old.  I guess I should start by introducing myself... Hi! My name is Morgan. I am finishing up my last few weeks of freshman year at Northern Arizona University. Loved it! Aside from stressful classes and all those mornings where it was about -12 degrees out, I've enjoyed pretty much every second of college so far. I love the freedom and the feeling that I am doing something big with my life! Anyways, I never really thought I was the blogging type, but I need something to keep me occupied for the next 2 years.  Here's the deal: my former boyfriend, and current best friend, Lincoln, is leaving tomorrow for his 2 year mission in Armenia! Where is Armenia you ask? Good question, because before his mission call I didn't really know that was a country..oops.  Somewhere over by Iran and Turkey. In other words, FAR AWAY! So today pretty much sucked, we got to have one last phone conversation and of course I couldn't stop bawling. Seems like the tears especially liked coming in the middle of class.  Even though 2 years seems like a long time (well not just seems like, it IS a long time) I guess this I'm thinkin this blog will be a mix of my life waiting for my best friend to come home, and just my life in general. I'm excited to see how I'm able to grow, and I'm excited to hear about all of Lincoln's experiences as a missionary. He's gonna do great I know it :) And as for me, who knows what could happen in that time! All I have to do is stick to my motto: everything happens for a reason, and God has a plan for all of us. This is day 1, and counting.

this is me, and my mom and little sister
